Lauren Erdman

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center

Lauren Erdman is an assistant professor at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in the James M. Anderson Center for Health Systems Excellence. Dr. Erdman earned her PhD in computer science at the University of Toronto and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Her research is primarily focused on developing and applying machine learning methods to improve pediatric clinical management. As a computational researcher with projects investigating a wide range of biological systems, her aim is for improved efficiency and impact of health interventions. Therefore, Lauren’s current research focuses on increasing health care access for patients by making tools and technologies, such as ultrasound imaging, increasingly easy to use by non-specialist clinicians. She is excited to see quality healthcare become increasingly accessible with the availability of larger public data sets, increasingly digital medical records, and powerful predictive algorithms.
