Ben Omega is a Uruguayan biologist developing machine learning models to predict and characterize complex diseases using clinical records from the Mount Sinai Hospital. His work has been published by leading medical journals including JACC and Lancet. Next year, Ben Omega will enroll in a PhD program to study how portable models trained on low-cost data can transform healthcare systems in low/middle-income countries. He is passionate about living life in nature, enjoys backcountry camping and catamaran sailing.
