Megan Bent
Megan Bent is a chronically ill artist drawn to processes that reflect her disabled experience, especially interdependence, impermanence, and care. Through photography, installation, printmaking, advocacy, and protest, she celebrates disability culture and interrogates the hierarchies that support ableism. Her work has been exhibited domestically and abroad at venues including The U.N. Headquarters, NY, NY; Root Division, San Francisco, CA; form & concept, Santa Fe, NM; F1963, Busan, South Korea; and Fotonostrum, Barcelona, Spain. She is a recipient of the 2023 Wynn Newhouse Awards and the 2024-2025 Culture Push Disability Arts Curatorial Fellowship.
Following her father’s experiences of healthcare denials fueled by the use of AI, she has become an advocate for healthcare justice. She has volunteered and worked with organizations like Be A Hero, NYC Retirees, and PNHP to hold press conferences, visit members of Congress, and raise public awareness.
