Carol Cain
Carol Cain, PhD is the executive director of Clinical Information Services at Kaiser Permanente’s Care Management Institute. She oversees KP’s clinical knowledge resources: National Guidelines, Clinical Library, Clinical Education, and the Garfield Memorial Research Fund – an organization-wide portfolio that helps KP fulfill the promise of a learning healthcare system. Carol has designed patient-centered care pathways for oncology treatment, hospital to home, managing chronic pain, precision medicine, and other chronic conditions. She’s currently coordinating KP’s approach toward responsible use of AI in care delivery. A clinical informaticist by training, she previously managed the health IT portfolio at AHRQ and was adjunct faculty in the Stanford Biomedical Informatics program.
