Dr Aditya (Adi) Kale is a Radiology Resident, NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow, and Doctoral Researcher in the West Midlands, UK. His research focuses on the evaluation and regulation of AI as a Medical Device, particularly post-market surveillance and safety monitoring. He has been an advisor to the MHRA Software Group and has engaged with other regulators including the UK’s CQC on AI safety monitoring and incident reporting. Dr Kale serves on the governance board of the MHRA AI Airlock programme and is a theme lead at the UK’s Centre of Excellence for Regulatory Science and Innovation in AI & Digital Health (CERSI-AI) He previously worked at an innovation accelerator supporting medical technology SMEs, contributes to national education programmes on clinical AI evaluation and implementation, and is a module lead for the MSc Artificial Intelligence Implementation (Healthcare), University of Birmingham, UK.
