Sara Murray
Associate Professor & Associate Chief, UCSF
Dr. Murray serves as Vice President and Chief Health AI Officer for UCSF Health, where she drives the vision and strategy for AI to transform healthcare delivery at UCSF and beyond. She also serves as Associate Chief for Health System Partnerships in the Division of Clinical Informatics and Digital Transformation (DoC-IT) at UCSF. She leads UCSF’s Health AI Team, overseeing AI governance, infrastructure, and the evaluation and development of AI tools in the health system. Her work focuses on integrating AI into clinical workflows to enhance care delivery, support frontline clinicians, and drive system-wide value. She played a key role in launching the Impact Monitoring Platform for AI in Clinical Care (IMPACC), a UCSF initiative designed to ensure continuous oversight of AI applications in healthcare. Beyond UCSF, Dr. Murray collaborates with policymakers, health system leaders, and regulatory bodies to establish best practices for AI adoption and monitoring.
