Dana Lewis is an independent healthcare researcher, author, and developer who founded the open source artificial pancreas movement (known as “OpenAPS”), making safe and effective automated insulin delivery (AID) technology available (sooner) for people with diabetes around the world. She has used AI to facilitate the development of additional patient-focused technologies such as customized medication tracking and evaluation systems for overlooked patient populations, as well as leveraging AI within such applications to ease patient burden related to tracking and evaluation of medication efficacy. She is a passionate advocate of patient-centered, -driven, and -designed research.
