Isaac Kohane, MD, PhD, is the inaugural chair of Harvard Medical School’s Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Marion V. Nelson Professor of Biomedical Informatics. He develops computational methods that advance discovery and care across scales, from health care systems to genomics, and has worked in AI in medicine for more than three decades. Two decades ago, he founded the Bioinformatics and Integrative Genomics PhD program, whose hundreds of graduates now hold leadership roles in academia and industry. Two years ago, he co-founded the AI in Medicine PhD program, whose students are already featured in leading publications. He is co-author of the book The AI Revolution in Medicine and Editor-in-Chief of NEJM AI.
