Casey Ross
Casey Ross is the Chief Investigative Reporter for Data and Technology at STAT. His reporting examines the use of artificial intelligence in medicine and its underlying questions of safety, fairness, and privacy. A winner of the Polk and Loeb awards for investigative reporting, and twice a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, Casey’s journalism has uncovered harmful business practices and exploitation that led to new federal regulations and lawsuits against some of America’s largest health care companies. Before joining STAT in 2016, he wrote for the Cleveland Plain Dealer and the Boston Globe. A Vermont native, he now lives in Ohio with his wife and three children, where he coaches hockey and baseball, and spends an inordinate amount of time mucking around in his barn.
