Patrick J. Heagerty PhD is Professor and former Chair of the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Washington (UW).  Dr. Heagerty has developed fundamental methods for longitudinal studies, and he has detailed rigorous methods for the design, analysis, and interpretation of cluster-randomized trials conducted within health care delivery systems. Dr. Heagerty has co-authored two leading texts (Analysis of Longitudinal Data, Oxford 2002; and Biostatistics: A Methodology for the Health Sciences, Wiley 2004).  Dr. Heagerty is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, and Fellow of the American Statistical Association. Dr. Heagerty is Statistical Editor for the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Dr. Heagerty is the founding of the UW Director of the Center for Biomedical Statistics which partially funded by the NIH CTSA and he is Director of the Biostatistics and Research Design Core for the NIH Pragmatic Trials Collaboratory.
